Leadership at Joy

Each local church should recognize and affirm the divine calling of spiritually qualified men to give leadership to the church through the role of elder in the ministry of the Word and prayer. Elders are also to function as shepherds carefully and lovingly watching over the souls in their care as one who will have to give an account (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Timothy 5:17; Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5).

Ben King | Elder & Staff

Ben was born and raised in South Jersey and has spent his entire life here. When he was 16, the Lord graciously opened his ears to hear the gospel and saved him. Ben received a degree in history from Rowan University and spent nine years as a high school history teacher. He served as an elder for three years at Joy Community Fellowship in Pitman where he was a member since 2010. In 2013 Ben and his wife Lindsay moved to Williamstown. Over the next few years the Lord gave him a heart to see a new church planted in his community. In May of 2018 he was brought on staff at JCF Pitman as a Church Planting Resident with the aim of planting a church in Williamstown. By God's grace, the Lord has begun that work and JCF Williamstown was planted in February of 2020. Ben is currently a student at Westminster Theological Seminary working towards his Masters of Divinity . He lives in Williamstown with his wife Lindsay and their 4 children: Adleigh, Benjamin, Maggie, and Levi.
