Sunday Evening Prayer

Every Sunday we gather in the evening from 5:30-6:30 pm to pray. In Acts 2:42 we learn that the church devoted themselves to prayer, and so we long to be a congregation that is characterized by an absolute dependence on God expressed in earnest prayer. The evening is very informal and has as its main focus a time of sharing and most importantly, time together in prayer.

Children's Ministry

Our role in Children's Ministry is to support and encourage the ministry of the parents. This happens organically in the church family in a variety of ways. Our prayer is that children would see a vibrant faith in their parents and in the family of the church. We ask the Lord that He would give children in our church the gift of faith that endures to the end and leads to generations of godliness.

We offer childcare on Sunday morning for all kids ages 5 and under. "God's Garden" is our regular children's ministry program where our aim is to impart to children a vision of God, who He is, and who we are in relation to Him, and to establish them with a foundation of doctrine and truth. We want them biblically grounded, seeing God as the hero of every story, with a God-centered world view and a faith that will hold them when the days of testing come. We are currently using The Gospel Story Bible Curriculum.

Children from kindergarten up are invited to be part of the entire worship service, as we believe there is a special joy in having children worship God with their families.

Life Group Ministry

One of the main ways we seek to encourage one another in our submission to Jesus is by meeting together in Life Groups. Most groups meet weekly in each other’s homes for fellowship, prayer and to study God’s Word. We view Life Groups as a means of enabling the congregation to care for and disciple each other. They are not support or counseling groups or pure study groups. Rather, they are used to cultivate spiritual fellowship together, a fellowship informed by Scripture and pursued through prayer, study, and transparency. They are a sort of "on ramp" to the kind of relational culture that we are praying becomes increasingly normal at JCFW.

We also hope these groups will be a ready means for members of JCFW to serve the community together in the cause of advancing the gospel. In Life Groups we serve each other, challenge each other, and work together to bring Jesus to our community. As the church scattered throughout Williamstown and the surrounding areas, we can better work our way into the neighborhoods and communities of our town for the sake of the Gospel. In community we are able to work together to find and seize opportunities to make a difference and to make disciples of Jesus. We currently have groups meeting on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. If you're interested in joining a Life Group, click the email link below and let us know! We'll be in touch with you soon!
